The primary objective of aviation security is to safeguard passengers, crew, ground personnel, and the general public against acts of unlawful interference committed in flight or within the confines of an airport.
All passengers must complete the security-screening process after check-in and before entering the Departure Hall.
The Screening Process

X-Ray Screening of Carry-On Items
Items taken through the security checkpoint must be X-ray screened. This includes carry-on bags, wallets, and items in your pockets. Items unsuitable for X-ray screening, such as strollers and wheelchairs, will be subject to secondary screening measures.

Physical Inspection of Personal Items
If an item of baggage cannot be cleared by the X-ray equipment, a physical inspection will be conducted.

Walk-Through Metal Detector
You must walk through a metal detector as part of the passenger-screening process. A handheld scanner may be used to resolve an alarm from the walk-through detection equipment or as part of a frisk search.

Frisk Search
A physical pat-down may be required to resolve an alarm from the walk-through detection equipment.

Follow the 3-1-1 rule for carry-ons: Liquids, gels, aerosols, creams, and pastes must be 3.4 ounces (100 ml) or less per container. These items must fit inside one quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag. One bag is permitted per passenger and must be placed separately in the screening bin. Exceptions include required liquid medication, baby food, and special dietary items needed for the journey.
Check prohibited items: Certain items are strictly prohibited in both hand and checked baggage. To determine whether an item is permitted, visit the TSA Prohibited Items List. Even permitted items may require additional screening and may be denied if security concerns arise.
Keep essential items, such as travel documents, medications, and electronic devices, in your hand baggage.
No beverages of any kind may be taken beyond the security checkpoint.
